Notable Quotes – Summer

Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass on a summer day listening to the murmur of water, or watching the clouds float across the sky, is hardly a waste of time.  ~John Lubbock

“Mosquito is out,
it’s the end of the day;
she’s humming and hunting
her evening away.
Who knows why such hunger
arrives on such wings
at sundown? I guess
it’s the nature of things.”
-   N. M. Boedecker,
Midsummer Night Itch

Then followed that beautiful season… Summer….
Filled was the air with a dreamy and magical light; and the landscape
Lay as if new created in all the freshness of childhood.
~Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Being a child at home alone in the summer is a high-risk occupation.  If you call your mother at work thirteen times an hour, she can hurt you.  ~Erma Bombeck

Little Hailey Marie Strzelec from Virginia is visiting her grandparents Dale & Donna Strzelec for the Fourth of July holiday. The family attended the fireworks display at Split Rock Resort in Lake Harmony. The Century 21 Select Group Lake Harmony Office offers a great view of the display over the lake.

Hailey, under the guidance of her grandfather Dale, saw the opportunity to offer parking for a donation to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

She raised $76.00 parking cars, all of which will be given to the Northeast Affiliate Branch.

Century 21 Select Group Lake Harmony Office raised $350.00 for

Breast Cancer during the “Great Tastes of Pennsylvania Wine & Food Festival” on June 12, 2010 held at Split Rock Resort.

Festival patrons were offered “free” bottled water for a donation to Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation. Parking is at a premium during the festival. Our prime location also generated donations in exchange for parking at our office.

100% of the money raised went to the Northeast Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
